About Me:
Bio:
I've been playing since I was 15. I started out playing Sex Pistols, GWAR, Misfits, Nirvana, Fugazi, etc. Then, due to guitar, my musical styles flourished. I learned about Robin Trowers, Phish, Dave Matthews, Nick Drake, Modest Mouse, Led Zeppelin, Humble Pie, The Rolling Stones, Indeginous, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Tom Waits, Pavement, Rusted Root, Radiohead, Teenage Fan Club, The Jayhawks, Dire Straits, Larry Carlton, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Primus, Rage Against the Machine, Tool, Sponge, Fishbone, 311, Sublime, Alice in Chains, The Beatles, Ben Harper, Alan Parsons, Pink Floyd, Elvis Costello, Cream, Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac(the real Mac), Frank Zappa, G. Love, The Grateful Dead, Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, John Mayall, Jethro Tull, Yes, Little Feat, Steve Winwood, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sonic Youth, Pearl Jam, and everything else I've ever listened to. Music is my addiction. I hear a song, I have to know how to play it on guitar. Then I have to sing it. Then I have to know who the musician's are in the band. I have to know what other bands the musicians were in. And the producer, along with the record company and recording studio. Then I have to know who else the producer worked with, and if he has his own work. I have an infinite amount of useless knowledge when it comes to music. I think like music. I look at the world as music. I'm insane.
Equipment:
Guitars: 99' Ovation Celebrity Deluxe 93' Epiphone Les Paul Birds Eye Maple 01' Fender Stratocaster Deluxe w/ out of phase switching Amps: 45' Gibson GA-45 68' Gibson Duo Medalist 91' Feder Blues Deville with 60's speakers (4-10") Pedals: Ibanez Tubescreamer (modified at the output jack for more sustain - contact me for the info on how to do this) Ibanez Smashbox (same modification as above-I wouldn't recommend it for this one though, it's a decent pedal stock) Flanger (I forget who makes it...its pink) Cry Baby (of course) Zoom Guitar Processor (I generally use this for the drum patterns-the effects on this kind of suck. You don't have much control) I also various other pedals that have been modded in one way or the other - Cry Baby turned into a Volume Pedal, Fuzzed Out distortion pedal, etc.
Musical Skills/Knowledge:
I am most experienced with guitar and bass. I can play piano, though not very proficiently. I can also play drums, though not very proficiently. I only know that one rock beat- bass snare snare snare tom snare snare snare bass etc. I can play it either fast or slow.
Other Interests:
I love to take shit apart. I search for old amps, stereos, etc. I try to build my own pedals. One day I hope to build my own amp but, I'm married with two kids so finding spare time around my house is like taking Viagra to jerk off. Painful. Maybe that was the wrong analogy to use but, anyway, I also like getting old pedals and fixing them up. A lot of people junk old pedals because of stupid shit. Nine times out of ten, either there's a bad connection at one of the input/output jacks or there is a bad connection at the battery. If you are into mods or would like to start, Google the type of pedal you want to fix up. Just put the word mod at the end of your search keywords - ex. Ibanex Tubescreamer Mod. You'll be suprised how much info there is for music equipment. I've given my secrets away.
